SINTEG explores: Real-world labs – how do they work, what lessons have we learned?

The SINTEG showcases are large real-world laboratories set up for the “Energiewende”, the ongoing transition to renewables in Germany. The showcases are testing innovative technologies and business models for future energy provision. This forum will address relevant questions such as: To what extent has the real-world lab principle been successful? What new technologies have the real-world laboratories enabled? What role do regulations play? What role should consumers and the general public play in the showcases? What importance do public relations, internationalisation and networking have for the consortia running the showcases? What lessons can be learned for future real-world labs in Germany or elsewhere in the world? Impulse statements from specialists in the showcase approach will be followed by discussion with the audience.

SINTEG connects: Approval and participation - how the energy transition succeeds

Technologically and economically, the energy transition is becoming increasingly tangible, and climate change is making it increasingly urgent. Many citizens are already actively involved in the expansion of renewable energy. But at the same time, the energy transition is also met with reservations. In this forum, experts from the five SINTEG model regions report on their experiences of getting citizens on board for the energy transition.
