Bring flexibility to the market
In the sub-project 1.2 ‘Innovative Process Platform’ of transmission system operator 50Hertz, a marketing platform is being developed and tested for flexibility, similar to the platform for frequency containment reserve.
For this project, the design of the market processes and communication should rely on the operating experience of Energiequelle GmbH in the field of ancillary services from large-scale batteries and flexible wind turbines (operating reserve from wind power). Energiequelle GmbH is very interested in the use of flexibility instead of classic redispatch measures and therefore also in researching other ways of marketing. Energiequelle GmbH wants to try and bring wind turbines connected to the 380 kV grid, battery storage systems and/or Power-to-X installations onto the new platform and test their adequacy.
Besides the technical and market design of the platform, an additional goal is to find out which opportunities these new marketing methods have to offer for renewable energy and Power-to-X applications. Another research area concerns how these can be used to support the system and to improve the integration of renewable energy.
