Energieavantgarde Anhalt e. V.

Energieavantgarde Anhalt e.V. is a network of regional players that works together with national and European partners towards a sustainable regional energy system. The necessary technical, economic and socio-cultural changes are shaped jointly by partners such as the public utilities of the region and many municipalities, including the city of Dessau-Roßlau and the district of Wittenberg. These partners are committed to social participation as a key factor for the success of the energy transition and focus on social sustainability.

Short description of the project contribution

Anhalt field test – regional energy system

In the scope of the project, Energieavantgarde Anhalt e.V. deals with the following topics:

The creation of a network of players in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld-Wittenberg region, as well as work on the sustainable restructuring of its energy system and the design of the technical, economic, socio-cultural and political changes this requires. It is open to all contributors who are committed to this goal and share their expertise.

Specifically, Energieavantgarde Anhalt e.V. will establish contacts, communicate with regional players, companies and civil society groups, forward data from regional players to the Reiner Lemoine Institute (RLI) and advise on the conception of the simulation, taking regional value creation into account, including the engagement of and communication with experts from the region.

The objectives are the scientific classification of combined power plants and regional markets, the assessment of power plant deployment planning for direct marketing, the definition of decision criteria for regional planning and target formulation, the creation of publicly available energy system models for the 50Hertz region and more detailed models for the Anhalt region and the assessment of the usefulness and economic viability of flexibility options in a local context.
