Following the publication of the final comprehensive WindNODE report 2020 in German and in English, the two signature papers resulting from the internal WindNODE synthesis of results "Best Practice Manual: Identifying flexibility options" and "Summary Report Flexibility, Markets and Regulation" are now published in English.
The "Best practice manual: Identifying flexibility options" focuses on the individual identification and use of flexibility in organizations and companies. Individual tangible, concrete case studies of the WindNODE partners shine a light on successfully implemented application practices and processes of project work and invite to imitate them. The best practice manual thus serves as an important guide on the way to an intelligent energy system, and helps to optimize the integration and use of renewable energy from the residential area to the factory, while adjusting demand to the availability of local renewable energy.
Best-Practice-Manual: Identifying flexibility options
As the third and last final publication the summary report "Flexibility, markets and regulation: Insights from the WindNODE reality lab" takes the different name-giving perspectives on renewable energy integration. In addition to the concrete use of flexibility options in practice, the report presents the theoretical flexibility potential in the WindNODE region, new market-based mechanisms for flexibility procurement for grid congestion management, and analyzes the regulatory framework and while reviewing it for further development. The report addresses in particular the marketing options of flexible generators and consumers and highlights challenges and opportunities at the low voltage level, against the background of a further decarbonizing society.
