For the success of the energy transition, we must not only appeal to the intellect, but also to the emotions: we must win hearts and brains! This is the idea behind the WindNODE project "Energy and Art" by Maria Reinisch on behalf of the WindNODE partner TU Berlin. The website of "Energie und Kunst" is now online and shows the results of two years of artistic exploration of different visions for the energy transition.
Art, according to the approach of the project, opens up a sensual and emotional approach to the subject and it stimulates reflection. In short: art enables a holistic approach of the people. This is shown by the works of art, each of which incorporates three different perspectives. After lectures, discussions took place in a small group and various ideas were brought together. In the end, an artist has transformed the result of these discussions into a picture - adding his own personal touch.
This creative process has activated other brain areas in the persons involved than in a purely rational approach - and gave rise to concrete images of a desirable future. Thus, a whole gallery of visions has emerged, which can not only change the perspective of those directly involved. Even the general public can be better introduced to the abstract theme of the "Energiewende" through the pictorial address. It receives an additional aesthetic dimension and immediately stimulates the visitors of the exhibition to reflect and to build their own inner images - in the sense of Goethe's insight: "Art is the mediator of the unspeakable."
The pictures from the project "Energy and Art" can be seen on the website www.energie-und-kunst.de.
In the near future, the artworks will also go on tour as a traveling exhibition through the WindNODE region.
