The WindNODE partner project is divided into nine workstreams, in which the smart energy system of the future is developed and studied through various approaches. In workstream 5, “Market design and regulation - new rules of play and roles in the energy system”, the WindNODE paper “Market design, regulation and overall efficiency of flexibility in the power system” was elaborated. It describes the status quo of the interaction between power market and grid as well as the legal framework regarding the activation of flexibility for the electricity system. The paper is now available as a peer review paper after successful coordination with all project partners. More specifically, the publication outlines the challenges in exploiting the flexibility of industrial processes using a practical example. Furthermore, the quality impact of flexibility on the overall system is analysed, focussing on the consideration of industrial end consumers.

The complete paper is availablehere.
