"A municipal energy management system will enable municipal utilities to use previously unused renewable energy effectively. Energy networks can thus be made intelligent. As a result, the project can make an important contribution to mastering the energy transition," explains IBAR Managing Director René Markgraf.

The municipal energy management system, which is currently under construction, is dedicated to the intelligent networking of energy generation and consumption, as well as the use of innovative network technologies and grid operating concepts. In the project network with BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and HKW Heizkraftwerksgesellschaft Cottbus mbH it deals with the coupling of the sectors electricity and heat as well as their generation, storage and distribution.
