The feed-in of electricity from renewable sources like wind and sun constantly fluctuates. Other generating units must then be adjusted to the current grid states. However, if the renewable generation changes quickly, this manual adjustment reaches its limits. This is where Stadtwerke Frankfurt (Oder) come into play: based on their experience in the operation of generating units and cross-border district heating supply, Stadtwerke Frankfurt (Oder) are developing IT solutions for fully automatic control of all necessary processes in generating units. This ensures the optimal operation of the generating units and, therefore, the most efficient use of renewable energy.

If you’d like to divulge further, you can do so on site: the heating plant and the heat transfer station of the public utility company will be open to the public as WindNODE visitor sites as of 12 August 2020.

Also from 12 August onwards, one can visit the travelling exhibition WindNODE Live! at the Lenné-Passagen in Frankfurt (Oder).
