Feldheim, Brandenburg

Feldheim is a completely energy self-sufficient village in Brandenburg.

The nearby wind farm with 55 turbines forms the backbone of the local power supply, while the heat is supplied by the biogas plant. The natural fluctuations of the wind power supply are compensated by energy storage. For additional heat requirements on particularly cold days, a modern woodchip heating system as well as a power-to-heat system are available.
